Surface oxidation for die casting dies

Prolonging durability and maximum effort for extending the time before first microcracks appear on the pressure casting dies increase demands not only on the material, but also on heat treatment operations and final heat treatment. One possibility for improving the running up end extending the life is the surface oxidation. This lecture deals with the introduction of the oxidation process and its contribution for the application of aluminum die casting.
