Nondestructive white layer evaluation of the nitrocarburising parts
The evaluation of nitrocarburising layers is connected with metallography preparation and destructive testing. In cases, when the nitrocarburising processes include 20000 – 30000 pcs per batch the destructive testing is difficult and requires a large amount of samples. If the process fails and we suspect that some of the parts do not match the specification, scrapping costs are significant. The post focuses on nondestructive testing and sorting of whole batches using the Magnatest equipment, which can provide easier work with suspicious batches and to minimaze the cost of nonconforming parts.
