Additively manufactured parts from AISI H13 tool steel and their heat treatment
AISI H13 steel is often used for additive manufacturing and repair of molds, tools and other parts. Depending on the size and shape complexity of the printed part, SLS (selective laser sintering) or LMD (laser metal deposition) printing technologies are commonly used methods. When creating multiple overlapping layers, the previous cladds are affected by temperature and thus the properties are affected too. The contribution is dedicated to the description of these changes in connection with the printing strategy and the temperature field, the influence of used material and the possibility of a solution, for example by means of postprocessing – subsequent heat treatment.
