Great attention is always paid to heat treatment processes. Very often, however, undesirable influences occur that can cause the expected process result to deviate greatly from the expected and desired result in terms of mechanical properties, structure and other requirements of both the customer and the process operator. Once a non-conformity is identified, a diligent search for the cause ensues. Parameters, processes, requirements, technical condition of the equipment are examined and it is not always possible to achieve the desired finding of a cause that can be subsequently eliminated so that it does not recur.
The aim of this lecture is to look at possible complications in heat treatment processes that exist, occur very frequently and do not always succeed in discovering their root cause. At first glance, they are not related to heat treatment processes at all, but reality shows their influence. These are communication, lack of review of process steps, a sense of certain knowledge that we often refer to as routine. These situations can very often make heat treatment processes unwanted.
